Regional United Way Campaign Kickoff

 

BRISTOL, TENNESSEE – The United Ways of the Appalachian Highlands region hosted their regional kickoff on Friday, August 23 at the Holiday Inn in Bristol, VA. This kickoff event, which was hosted by HomeTrust Bank and the United Way of Bristol TN/VA, marks the beginning of the campaign season for United Way of Bristol TN/VA, United Way of Elizabethton/Carter and Johnson Counties, United Way of Greater Kingsport, United Way of Greene County, United Way of Hawkins County,  and United Way of Washington County. This year’s programming was filled with speakers from each United Way and was capped off by the always-inspiring Phillip Fulmer, Athletic Director at the University of Tennessee.

 

Collectively, these 6 United Ways have a goal of raising more than $6.8M, which would positively impact nearly 250,000 individuals in our communities. “We invite you to join us in our fight for health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community, because Change Doesn’t Happen Alone” Michelle Bacon, Campaign Chair for United Way of Greater Kingsport stated. Bacon also announced the $3.5M goal for the 2019 campaign for United Way of Greater Kingsport.
