WCYB: A local organization is hoping to inspire community change with its latest campaign.
The United Way of Greater Kingsport kicked off its 2016 community campaign on Tuesday.
This year's theme focuses on communities working together to make a better tomorrow.
Representatives from the United Way say the need is year-round.
"It's easy to be passionate about the work that United Way does because you see the benefits of it in the community everyday. It's not just one thing that we're doing. It's education, income and health. And so you see the effects of this work, and the volunteerism everyday in our community," said Mandi Cambre of the United Way of Greater Kingsport.
The organization hopes to raise $3.7 million during its campaign this year.
