KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE – The United Way of Greater Kingsport (UWGK) kicked off its 2019 Campaign in September of this year, setting an aggressive fundraising goal of $3.5 million. Today, November 19, 2019, they announced the campaign results and celebrated the community’s efforts in their attempt to reach this goal. The event was held at the Model City Event Center where guests gathered to hear keynote speaker, Jim Harlan.

The dollars raised through the campaign remain within our Greater Kingsport community to improve lives within the areas of health, education and financial stability. UWGK can leverage funds to support 41 programs and 30 member agencies to sustain positive community impact. UWGK fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every member of the community.

This week brought significant milestone announcements for both Kingsport City Schools and Sullivan County Department of Education.

KINGSPORT – More than 1,000 volunteers completed 133 projects for 26 nonprofits during the 27th Annual Regional United Way Week of Caring, June 17-21, according to the United Way of Greater Kingsport. The financial impact of this year’s Week of Caring is estimated at nearly $150,000 for a cumulative 6,000 hours of work.
