Vision Councils

Membership:
United Way of Greater Kingsport Vision Councils are comprised of diverse members of the community who have an interest in the focus area of the Vision Council. 

Functions:
Measurement--Vision Councils identify key community outcomes that can measure progress toward an ideal community state. An initial set of outcomes has already been created, but the Vision Council may change these as community needs change. Vision Council members tap into local resources to gather data to measure progress.

Assessment--Vision Councils continuously assess the community in their focus area by identifying the amount and type of need and comparing it to the availability and type of assistance, education, preventative services, counseling, etc. that exists. Gaps where need is not being served or where services are duplicated are identified.

Planning--Vision Councils recommend action plans that address priority issues and improve outcomes.
