Goal

Engage and inspire the community to create a shared vision for collaborative action in identified areas of need.
Develop, maintain and grow relationships with individuals and organizations to attract and sustain resources to support our mission.
Build awareness and support by effectively communicating UWGK's impact in our community.
Achieve positive, measurable and lasting change in community conditions.
Provide open and effective leadership, systems, policies and processes that enable the organization to achieve its mission.

Objectives

To do this, we will:
  • Assess community resources and needs.
  • Facilitate action to address root cause issues and leverage resources.
  • Initiate and support collaborative efforts within the community.
  • Increase involvement of targeted groups and individuals.
To do this, we will:
  • Develop effective strategies across our community to market and grow - annual campaign, endowment, gifts-in-kind and volunteerism.
  • Cultivate our relationship with constituents (or customers) by building awareness of and engagement in the work of the organization.
  • Identify, assess and use community resources to achieve strategic objectives including people, knowledge, relationships, technology, and finances.
To do this, we will:
  • Create an awareness of identified community needs.
  • Use member agencies' and UWGK partners' initiative outcomes to communicate impact on local health and human service needs.
  • Collect and analyze useful information on current and future investors, volunteers and partners.
  • Develop a communication/ action plan for each targeted audience.
  • Use UWGK champions to maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
To do this, we will:
  • Align UWGK resources with community outcomes in identified focus areas.
  • Improve impact and overall effectiveness through the use of outcome measures
To do this, we will:
  • Continue use of the highest standards for financial policies, internal controls, investment policies, and legal reporting.
  • Use the United Way of America Standards of Excellence in all areas of operations.
  • Ensure flexibility to allow UWGK to be proactive and more responsive to changing needs in the community
  • Align UWGK's structure, volunteers, staff and technology to achieve a community impact model.
