United Way of Greater Kingsport is a non-profit organization that strives to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community to address local health and human service needs effectively. United Way addresses most of the identified needs through the 41 programs funded through 28 member agencies. In addition to this traditional type of funding, United Way engages the community in creating lasting changes in people's lives.
United Way of Greater Kingsport routinely assesses the needs of the community by conducting a community needs assessment. If there are issues that arise from the assessment that are not currently being met by traditional agency programs, United Way convenes community partners to address the problems. United Way focuses on the underlying causes, not just quick fixes, in order to improve lives and build stronger communities. |
